Due to occupational health and safety requirements and in accordance with KMC’s Alcohol and Drug Policy, potential employees may be required to submit to pre-employment alcohol and drug screening as a condition of employment.

 

Job Offer


Staff positions

Successful candidates will be presented with a “Conditions of Employment Offer” which details: position, start date, probationary period, status, salary or hourly rate, pay structure, hours of work, vacation entitlement, benefits package, performance incentive program. A candidate’s acceptance of the employment offer is signified by signing the offer. On occasion, individuals will be provided a tour of KMC’s facilities in an effort to help with making a decision of the job offer.

Union Positions

With the exception of our management, supervisors, and clerical staff, KMC’s operations and maintenance positions are primarily filled in accordance within our Union Agreement. When positions are available within these areas, KMC submits an internal requisition; then a dispatch form is submitted to the Union for these positions; the Union will refer names based on our requisition; pre-employment testing and site activation is arranged for those individuals.  If the union is unable to provide a suitable candidate, we recruit and hire from the open market sometimes on a worldwide basis.
